Spring Inspiration

It’s a late post tonight, but on that I wanted to make sure to post. I came down with a bit of a cold last week and am just finally recovering from the last straggling remnants. BrantleyBub turned two yesterday and we had a sweet little neighborhood puppy party for him. There was fresh fluffy white stuff in the grass this morning and the air was so cold…With the cold and the snow and the fun things on the horizon, I’m so ready for Spring!!

Now that it is officially Spring (white weather this morning aside), I’m ready to be inspired by this new season, and this quote is perfect! “Inspiration is the seed, design but the flower.” Michael Langham’s words on a bright red background reminiscent of poppies (Benjamin Moore’s Ravishing Red) perfectly describe design no matter the time of year.

Design is the pretty that you see when all of the hard work, sunshine, food and water has been put in to let it blossom from just the seed. All of the work that goes into deigning a beautiful space build from our experiences and the things that inspire us no matter how big or how small. We take the experiences of our lives with us and call on them to inspire us as we create rooms that bloom into beautiful spaces.

And if you know me at all, you know how much I love flowers, so any space of my design that could be described as such would bring me so much joy. How does the change in seasons inspire you?

Motivation Monday {Spring Planning}

Spring is the season for planning and projects. I love this and find it to be spot on. Yesterday was the first day that really felt like spring is truly here!

MM Spring Planning

It’s time to start spring cleaning and planning our next projects around the house, and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s also the perfect time to start planning get-togethers with friends. This season is prime for entertaining: it’s not such perfect weather that you want to be outside all day, and it isn’t so cold out that you just want to curl into a ball and snuggle.

So, what spring fetes are you planning?

We had a decent weekend, but for now, I am ready to tackle my to-do list and get working on the exciting projects that are underway over here. How was your weekend? Are you ready to tackle this week and all your plans and projects for this week??

Happy Monday!

Motivation Monday {A Typical March Day}

Let me first start by saying I’m back! I have taken a couple of weeks to just figure out what my plans are for everything. Work has been overwhelming and my persona- design clients are keeping me busy. The list of things P & I would like to accomplish around the house is becoming more of a mountain, and we need to find ways to chip it down to something more attainable. All that said, I just needed to remove something from the list for a little while.

But at the end of the day, I really do enjoy blogging. I like the outlet that it provides me with and I love the sense of community I get from being a blogger. It really isn’t something I want to stop doing. So without further ado, we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming!

When I was searching for spring-themed quotes, I realized there weren’t really any that I considered to be motivational or inspiring really, but this quote from Charles Dickens provides the type of imagery that lets you feel like you are in the scene.

Charles Dickens on March

March is one of those months that is really hit or miss with the weather. Often in the morning you look out the window and the sun is beaming, but then you step outside and the wind hits you and you feel like you are still in the midst of winter. I love the spring though. It is a transition season that brings us out of the gloom and doom of winter with all of its bright flowers and chipper song birds. The act of layering is something I love and I wouldn’t trade these promising, sun-shining, wind-whipping days for anything right about now!

Happy Spring!
